Export Application Component in Application Studio Removed in 2026.04?

Hi all,

has anyone noticed the removal of Export Application Component in Application Studio Rel 2026.04?

I see that the Export functionality has been improved in 'Applications export] in the web - its not very efficient at the moment as you have to select each item individually. There are also overlaps on export functions - we can still export items in the Relational Modelling application

looking for best practice on exporting and importing applications to be able to copy between environments.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the hint. This is an important feature for us. We are on-premise.

I can still see the option in Application Studio but it is greyed out (TESTsystem 2026.04). On PROD it is still working (2025.10).

Hi Peter,

The siloed Application Component Exports for Application Studio, AppEngine Process Editor and Dashboards have been consolidated into the new Application Export. This was an intentional change to unify and streamline the export workflow so you no longer have to jump between different applications.

About having to select items individually each time: you can save your selection as an Export Profile. It has template functionality: set it up once and reuse and adjust it whenever you need it, no need to go through the entire wizard again.

As for the Relational Modeling export: that one is still there for a reason. It currently supports data export, which the Application Export doesn't cover yet. We're planning to add that, but it's not there right now. So the Relational Modeling export stays around both for data export and as a standalone export/import option for modeling.

Hi Peter,

To address the concern about having to select each item individually: the new Application Export supports Export Profiles. You can save your selection as a reusable profile, which acts as a template for future exports. No need to manually navigate through the entire wizard each time so once a profile is set up, it can be reused repeatedly.

The Relational Modeling currently supports data export, which the Application Export doesn't cover yet. We're planning to add that, but it's not there right now. So the Relational Modeling export stays for both to cover data export for now and to provide an independent export/import capability specifically for modeling.

@Alexander Lust many thanks for the detailed response.

Its actually a great move - as you say previously we had to create the application components for dashboards, application studio and app engine. It was just no announcement of this new feature :)

With regard to the export profile - the issue with this is that the source (say TST) environment may be updated with new components - so using the export profile - im assuming that new items added into the 'TST' environment will not be included in this.

Can i suggest to have a 'select-all' option on the initial export General information screen? - as you have to go through and click ALL options individually - this would be a good enhancement and give great usability to the export tool.

From the Nick's call yesterday - i understand that only the metadata schema structure and not the schema data will be copied across - are there any plans to add the ability to 'backfill' the schema tables from the OLAP database elements on the new environment it is getting copied to?

Actually there is quite a tool that will build your entire OLAP Modeling, tables and content and all, from your OLAP database. It has been shared here:

We used it a lot in migration from version 11.

Hi Martin,

i am a great proponent of that tool. It does have its flaws, but i hope Infor take it on as a solution to enable populating the dimensions when migrating from different environments.

Regarding the select all function: this is already in place. Navigate to Applications Administration → Label Management → Export Profiles tab: select a profile and assign an Application to it. Select the Application and click on the Actions "…" button and choose "Assign Everything" from the context menu. This will label all application related objects for this app. Please note that global objects (security objects and staging tables) are not included here.

Peter, just to close the topic you raised - do you lose any functionality with not having such feature? My impression was that if you export such component, you can't do much anyways with it outside putting it into the application export. So what we did is just move it from AppStudio to the Web (which should work faster and better). Am I missing something?
