When a position is inactive and the job remains active, there can be updates to the job default field values (such as SalaryStructureGrade). These updates inherently pass down to the active positions upon entry. However, if an inactive position is later reactivated, the updates to the job default fields never pass down to the position. The system should assess the job default fields at the time of position reactivation and update any necessary position values using the same effective date as the update to the active flag.
