I need to send delivery notes (PDF/reports) from Infor LN to an external logistics partner so they can print the documents at their location. I am evaluating the use of the Enterprise Connector and the Document Management Enterprise Print Service to route print jobs from IDM to a printer outside our internal network. myunderstanding is:
- The Enterprise Print Service sends print jobs to printers registered through the Infor Printer Agent (IPA).
- IPA requires authentication through Infor OS, meaning the external partner would need an Infor OS user account to register and manage their printer.
- This may not be ideal for external parties.
is there recommended and supported method for printing LN-generated documents at an external partner’s site.
Specifically, we would like guidance on:
- Whether external partners must have an Infor OS user to register their printer via IPA.
- If there is an alternative method to deliver print-ready PDFs to an external partner without granting them OS access.
- Best practices for printing to external printers in a Cloud LN environment.
- Any security considerations or limitations we should be aware of.
My goal is to automate the delivery of delivery notes to the logistics partner so they can print them locally, without exposing internal systems or requiring unnecessary user accounts.
