HIBCC/Barcode Scanning Setup in FSM for EPIC

Hello, we are looking to implement HIBCCs so item barcodes can be scanned in EPIC. Is anyone using this process today? If so, will you please reach out to me for assistance on setup requirements? We do use GTINs when we can but some companies only have HIBCC codes to scan on their items, so this will be brand new to us. Thank you in advance for your help! I will send you an email, but to provide input here. FSM can capture a number of different values for barcoding. It's a matter of passing those over to EPIC. Once in EPIC, you can put those in the field used for scanning and as long as that barcode is on the product, it should be able to find it. I don't have perspective from the EPIC side for you outside of my base knowledge.

Thank you, Jennifer! We were able to have Clinical Bridge map the HIBCC field and we are about to complete our testing for this with EPIC. It's all looking good. Thank you so much for your help!

Good Morning,
We are also getting ready to implement Epic and are having issues obtaining all GTIN values, as some companies only have HIBCC fields. We are currently using Clinical Bridge for our interface, but we are wondering if anyone has done it so that it looks to the GTIN in Infor and, if no value moves, looks to the HIBCC field. Any help would be appreciated, as this is a high task on our Epic list and we are having trouble filling the gap of missing GTIN data. On that same vein, is anyone using GHX Data Connect to integrate GTIN and HIBCC data to Infor? We are using it for GTIN data, but want to see if there is an option for HIBCC codes. Thanks

Hi Anthony,

We use GHX Dataconnect as well and I have just submitted an enhancemet request to them to separate out the GTIN and HIBCC fields in power sourcing. They stated they're working on it but we do not have an ETA.

We just successfully completed our testing for integrating multiple GTINs and HIBCCs to EPIC. Clinical Bridge will need to map the HIBCCItemUPNForBuyUOM field in the ITM:3 segment. I'm not sure if your mapping is different but you can reference case CS1747550 on your ticket if Infor needs more information. GTINs and HIBCCs will land in the same segment like this:
