Troubleshoot error when using report builder wizard

Question

working through the creating reports guide.  I have a created an IDO for Stored procedure.  This stored procedure has been in use for years.  When I got to the step of testing the report created in report builder wizard, I got the error: The OSB_VendorAnalysis.vend_num property may not appear in a filter or expression.  I have no idea where to begin debugging the error.

If you run the stored procedure directly in SQL, does it return vend_num as a column in the result set, or is vend_num being populated through an IDO property mapping, method, or derived property? Because if vend_num is literally a column in the SP result set, then I would start looking at the property definition itself. If it is a derived/unbound property, then the error makes complete sense. The key point is: Being a key in vendor_mst does not automatically make it filterable in an IDO. Filterability is determined by how the IDO exposes the property and whether Mongoose can translate the filter back to the underlying SQL source.

I have created an IDO based on a stored procedure.   I have a property for the report that is vend_num from vendor_mst.  That's what's throwing the problem.   How and why is that field (which is a key) not valid?

I don't understand.

There are some properties that just cannot be used in filters - it isn't an error, it is just based on the schema for the IDO or the data base.  I have had this happen with dataviews based on methods.
