New Widget manager - Receiving Context messages

I have been using App Designer fairly often to create widgets in the smart panel that access the
inforBusinessContext message to display additional info to a user when they select a record in Infor LN or Infor IPS, which worked really well.

I'm trying to do this in Mongoose using the new Widget manager but I can't work out how to create the receiving context message. In an app designer, you just copied and pasted the inforBusinessContext message from the screen you were working with.

I'd really appreciate some guidance here

Hi there!

Great timing, this is exactly what the Mongoose team has been working on. We have a new tool coming (GA planned for 2026.10) that you can actually access early right now.

Go ahead and open the WidgetManager form. It was built specifically for creating widgets, and makes it easy to set up sending and receiving messages.

I also just published this course ( https://education.infor.com/course-list/course/02_0202026_een0431_mgf ) covering the 2026.10 version and all its features. It walks through how to set up the context messaging piece step by step, so that's a great place to start.

I've been digging into this same question on my end (context-message binding into a widget). What I've found so far looks promising, IWidgetContext.receive() plus Infor's own sample widgets support subscribing to business context messages, but I want to confirm a couple of details against a live tenant before I say anything definitive. I'll follow up here tomorrow with the confirmed specifics.
