ION Integration with Bar Code data collection and LX

I am new to the ION concept.  We have are looking to buy a third party bar code data collection application where the bar code device is off line and will be eventually connected to the application server to upload collected data. There is no wi-fi at these production facilities.

The goal is to move the data from the bar code application server to BPCS LX.

The data collected on the bar code device will be Purchase Order receipts (similar to pur550) , Inventory Transactions (similar to inv500), Production Reporting (similar to JIT600) and Physical Inv tag entry (similar to inv600).

Questions:

1.) Would ION work in the above scenerios?

2.) Are there ready made BODS to inpout to LX for the types of transations above?

3.) If ION would work, does ION control the triggers/events to move the data?

There are many ways of getting data from a third party product into LX. ION is one of those ways. InforXtreme contains detailed documentation about ION, but for a quick introduction, within a typical ION integration an ION Connection Point is created pointing to the database of a product where the ION inbox and outbox tables can be found for that product. An ION Document Flow is then defined to route specified BODs from the Connection Point representing the first product to the Connection Point representing the second product. The sending product uses its own triggers/events to initiate building a BOD that it places in its outbox tables; then ION polls those outbox tables and determines which Document Flow to use and places the BOD in the receiving product's inbox tables; and the receiving product is then responsible for polling its inbox tables and handling the BODs that it received.



In the case of receiving BODs inbound from other products, LX does handle ReceiveDelivery (posting in either INV500 or PUR550) and InventoryAdjustment (posting in INV500), but does not handle BODs corresponding to Production Reporting (similar to JIT600) and Physical Inventory (similar to INV600).
