ACL Rules in IDM

Can anyone tell me how ACL Rules in the IDM application work?

When creating an ACL rule, you are evaluating the value of a particular attribute or property of a document. A user will select an ACL to apply to a document when the rule for the attribute is true. Here is an example:



Let's say an HR department wants to buy new computers, and needs to submit a document of type "Budget Request", which contains the attribute "Status." The following process is followed when getting a budget approval.



A request form is submitted by someone from the HR team to the IT department

Status: Draft

ACL: Only the employee who submitted the request and the IT department can see the document



If the IT department approves this request, the request moves to the accounting department

Status: For Approval

ACL: Only the employee who submitted the request and the Accounting department can see the document



If the request is approved by Accounting, a notification is sent to the HR team that they can order the computers.

Status: Approved

ACL: The document becomes Read-only, but is accessible by the accounting department
