H5 Scripting - What it is and how to get it

H5 Scripts are custom made scripts that can be connected to a form to extend the functionality of M3 forms in H5. By adding a script to a form, the script can access the data of the form, modify its contents and extend its functionalities. H5 scripts are deployed to the M3 UI Adapter server and can be configured as Global, Role or User personalization.

The latest version of the H5 Scripting SDK is available in KB 1909067 in Infor Extreme. The SDK includes the H5 Scripting Guide and sample scripts in Typescript format.

Hi! We have a problem when using the split screen functionality in H5, when the programs have script connected.

We found that in cases where 2 programs are opened at the same time in H5, the ListControl.ListView belonging to the Main controller class in H5 client always contain the information of the program on the left-hand side. This means that the script connected to the program on the right hand side stops working.

Is there a solution for this?

Hi Gunilla,

You can try adding the "controller" object as the last parameter.

Which specific function in ListController.ListView are you using?

Hello,
we are currently in the process of updating our coding workflows/guidelines and we ran into a major problem with the H5 Scripting SDK. Visual Studio 2019 installs with the new Typescript 3.4 compiler and can not be downgraded further than 3.3, all older projects must be updated to said version. The SDK was made on Typescript 1.8.5 (~2015) meaning we cannot compile any H5Script using bare VS2019. Microsoft suggested to use the 2.3 Nuget packet for compilation alongside with the 2.3 Typescript for VS2017 for Intellisense support however that doesn’t work so well. Our previous setup was VS2017 and manually installing an older TS 2.1.5 compiler.

Any plans on upgrading from this ancient Typescript version?

Thank you for this and we will definitely consider upgrading the sample Visual Studio project in the H5 SDK to be compatible with the latest typescript.

For the meantime, we recommend to use VS Code instead of VS 2019 if you want to use the latest typescript. There is a chapter in the H5 Scripting Guide on how to use VS Code. And then you can use: npm install -g typescript@3.4.

I tried it just now and the typescript samples included in the SDK are compiled correctly and has intellisense.

Hi Jack,

We are using GetValueByColumnIndex() to get the value of the field in the subfile.

On the first point suggested by you for adding the Controller as last parameter can you please provide more information
