Connection point for JSON file

I need to receive a JSON message as input in ION in order to built BODs and use them in Alerts/Workflows.

What is the correct/proposed connection point I should use in order to receive the JSON file? How to translate it then to XML?

Define a custom BOD and then in Technical Connector guide, you can find ION API Connection Point. In the Output Document tab section, you will examples of creating a BOD using <IONAPIRef>. Check this out.
