We are going to Factory Track and we don't know what kind of Windows tablet to get for the shop floor. Would anyone have any advice? Also, for the tablet, we would like to have wireless and a wired port.
You are going to want to use Android devices as Infor has a native app designed for Android. We use Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (approx $150 each) with rugged case and a bluetooth barcode scanner. These have worked well for us and is cost effective. But there are lots of other rugged options (ie. Zebra devices) that have integrated barcode scanners, etc. They will just be much more expensive options. Our employees like the tablet sized devices as they are easier to ready and interact with.
Thank you for the information. We want to use a Hamster Pro 20 USB fingerprint scanner to login employees.
I apologize….when I stated that you want to use an Android tablet, I was thinking for warehouse mobility, which is a module of Factory Track. In what you are talking about, you will probably want a windows tablet. We do use some Surface Pros for that or even Surface Gos. The Surface Gos aren't very robust, so they can lag a little. We primarily use Dell mini desktops on mobile carts with a monitor and zebra printers for labeling at each work center. We do not use any biometrics, just badges with a barcode scanner.
We use a combination of Keyence BT-A700 hand scanners and Munbyn hand scanners and a few Samsung tablets.
All are managed using Microsoft Intune in which they are locked down and the FT app is published to them. Enrollment is easy as is getting it to connect to your tenant.
