Visual 9.08 and QRP stop supporting extended query

Hi everyone,

We just upgraded to 9.08 and after that, I created two different QRP with extended Query and both of them are not bringing the data. Has anything changed? does anybody have the issue?

I reach out to Infor twice but they seem to not helping on extended query even though I'm using select query directly to Table. I'm updating VFGLAR11.QRP with the account description. So, For the test I used this query 'SELECT DESCRIPTION FROM ACCOUNT WHERE ID = isnull(:CREDIT_GL_ACCOUNT_ID,:DEBIT_GL_ACCOUNT) INTO :ACCT_DESC'

And then I used ACCT_DESC variable next to account ids. But I don't have anything description always blank.

Last conversation with infor they told me I've unused query please convert to used query. I never heard of it and I asked them How they said it's out of support.

Unfortunately I don't really have the skill to answer your question but could I ask which version you have upgraded from? We are considering 9.0.8 (currently on 9.0.6 which is full of bugs) and I am worried that yet more bugs are being introduced. I would suggest you push Infor harder for an answer - speak to the people at the top eg Nancy Oliveira. Nancy has been very helpful for us. I would be very interested to hear if anyone else is having new problems with 9.0.8 that they did not have in an earlier version.

I'm working through a similar issue with support currently. After updating to 9.0.8 our Purchase Receiver report pulls back some data from an extended query but not all. The report shows blank values from the ext. query on some receiver lines but not others even though if I execute the query manually I return all rows id expect.

For me I'm not getting any results. Everything is just blank. I had a really hard time with support. Whenever they sees an extended query. They respond with the same reply this falls out of the scope of free support

Thank you everyone for responding. I just had a screen sharing meeting with infor support and they agree that I was not doing anything wrong. They didn't accept that it's bug but they are going to do some research and let me know.

I'd be very interested in Infor's reply to you - we use many extended queries in our QRP's and I cringe to think they may not work in 9.0.8 - might have to skip that version!

Upgraded from 9.0.7 to 9.0.8 to 9.0.8SP1. 9.0.8 from a user perspective sucks. It is slow to respond on reports, it takes 6-9 seconds to move from section to section ( Ap to Inventory). They came out with SP1 and that seemed to help a bit, but I am sure that there are more bugs in the system and it seriously need product enhancement especially on the GL side.

I am currently on version 9.0.6 and I have a number of defects which will not be resolved until I upgrade to 9.0.8. I am now very worried about doing this because it sounds like I could be out of the frying pan into the fire. Would it be possible for everyone reading this on version 9.0.8 to list all the defects that have not yet been put right? I have tried getting this information from Infor but they will not supply it.

Hi Everyone,

Infor just called me and told me that it was the report VFGLAR11 which is not enabled for extended queries by infor. They are now reaching out to the development team.

Try this. In the support portal select Search>Knowledge Base.

Enter keyword %, Product Lines select Visual, Include Articles

Under advanced Options set Type to Program Error and Status to All Open and Release to 9.0.8
