File Channel Not Scanning - V10 on premise

I have had a file Channel/Receiver set up and have had no problems (I have several of them actually). The Channel is set up to scan every 15 minutes. The last time it scanned was @ 7:53 this morning which was when I Activated it (I had deactivated it because we were done with testing). I dropped a new file into the Channel/Folder around 8:03 a.m. and it should have scanned again around 8:08 a.m. but it is still sitting @ 7:53 a.m. and hasn’t checked for the file so consequently my process flow isn’t running. In the channels administrator I see that the Channel is enabled and active and the File Receiver is also active.

I did find Online Documentation in Rich Client referring to a system configuration property that overrides what would be set up in the File Channel - but I'm not sure where to look for that? I looked at the "system" and "main" configuration sets and see nothing related to fileChannelsMonitorLoopInterval and I know I haven't set anything up because I don't even know where to find it - can someone tell me where this would be? The documentation states that this value would override the value I have set up in my file channel properties.

I just deactivated the receiver and then activated it again and the scan took place. But I shouldn't have to keep doing that ...

It may be something you add to the properties under the system configuration. I just added a couple after we went to CU75. Go to System Configuration > double click on your system or main configuration and under the properties tab you would "create" a system property with a value. I've added emailActionAllowEmailForwarding set to true. We were having an authentication issue after going to CU75 with email invoice approvals. I found this in the release notes and it seemed to stop the issue we were having with it until we could set up new guidelines and best practices. Of course it will be set this way for all flow nodes that use system or main configurations.

Thanks - I just checked and there is nothing there. However - there is one other difference between when this was working and now having this issue -I changed the startup type to "Manual" instead of "Automatic". I don't want the test channels to start up when our system is rebooted on Sunday nights. But my understand was that value only had to do with whether or not the file receivers start up automatically or not when the system is restarted. But could that be causing this issue as well with my having to keep deactivating and reactivating in order for the scan to take place?

How many file channels do you have?

How many receivers on each channel?

Have you defined a unique In Error / In Progress directory for each channel?

What version of Landmark Environment are you on?

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

- there have been improvements to File Channels over the past few years that have improved their stability.

- there is a limited number of temporary files that are saved in the In Error / In Progress directory when moving files; giving each channel unique folders reduces the possibility of them bumping into each other and causing an outage (IPA Best Practice KB articles)

- Your landmark environment version is important as it can alter the way this code actually runs; so knowing the version lets me alter recommendations based on version and deployment. (ST/MT/OnPrem, v10/v11 and specific CU)

Several File channels - but this is the ONLY one that is currently active. There is only 1 receiver for this channel

Yes - every channel has its own unique Error and In Progress directory

Landmark Version - 10.1.1.74 (CU74)

We are on V10 (MSP 5)/On Premise for LSF

These channels were working fine until I set the StartUp type to Manual.

I have opened a ticket with Infor as well. I appreciate any insight you may have.

Yes - I'm sorry - I guess my post wasn't really clear. it works when it is set to Automatic but according to the Lawson documentation - the Start Up type is only to tell Lawson whether or not to automatically start up the file receiver when the system is restarted. I want these set to Manual because I do not want them started up automatically -but once I activate them manually - I would expect that they would continue to automatically scan (at the set interval) from that point on - but they are not doing that. Either the document is wrong (or unclear) or the system isn't working as it should.
