Invoice Matching Question

I'm need of clarification on Invoice Matching in M3. If I receive 3 shipments. 5,3 &2. I get an invoice for 6 and an invoice for 4. Will the invoice be able to match or does M3 look for the exact value?

This is entirely configurable. When you set up the functions to enter supplier invoices in CRS405 (AP10), a key field there is "Step Inv Match" which determines how much M3 should try to automate the invoice matching process. You can have users go into APS360 to match PO lines with goods receipts in a variety of ways, or you can have M3 try to automatically match PO lines as best it can.



If you set Step Inv Match to 2, for example, the user is kicked into APS360 and can match things up manually. For the first invoice of 6, they can select 5 from the first goods receipt and 1 from the second. Then, when entering the second invoice, they can select the remainder of the second receipt, and all of the last.
