MEC Direct link between functions

I have noted in some standard mappings that a direkt link is used between functions without saving to a global variable first. How do you accomplish this?

I have tried using the Link tool without success.

Thanks, I have tried this multiple times without success, but i seems to rather be an issue in the MEC version. We I try it in a newly updated version of MEC mapper it works.
