Costing Utilities Visual 7
Legacy Contributor
I was just wondering how long it takes other users to run costing utilites. Our db is about 1.5 gb and since our upgrade to visual 7 it is taking around 3 hours to run. Is this normal?

That's not normal. We are on 7.0 also, our db size is 8 gig, and it takes 1/2 hour to an hour to run. How many 'cycles' are you doing? We do 3.

We have a DB of 1.5 Gb and take 6 days!! so, 3 hours sound great!

Last night ours ran 1 hour and 34 minutes. Our db is 9.3 GB and are running all the steps , top and bottom with null cycles. Visual 7.0 SQL server 2005.

Not sure on the cycles but we do prepare the journal entries. If we run costing utilities alone it only takes about 3 minutes.

I just found out we do 3 cycles.

Hey Guys,
I am getting ready to schedule this to run nightly also, just wondering what you are using to schedule this? AutoIT, Windows Task Scheduler?
Thanks for the feedback

Automate. Couldn't get AutoIT to work right (probably user error). Got Network Solutions to sell me the upgrade of Automate for only $500. Use it for lots of things!

I built an inhouse app that automates costing, scheduling, printing mrp etc. I have it sending a screenshot of the summary page at the end of the costing cycle to a specified email. It works quite well for us. Anyways, If you can't get AutoIT to work well, I can package my app up. Your welcome to have it.
