Missing toolbars

Here is my issue:

We have users in Visual who keep having the toolbar disappear from windows. The only way we've known how to fix this is to remove the .ini file for that window and have the user reopen the window - this will cause Visual to generate a new .ini file for that window resetting it to default and fixing the issue.

What I am looking for is anyone who may have had the same issue and figured out how to fix this problem in the actual ini file, or any documentation on configuring windows via the ini file.

We have had the same issue. We are running windows 10 version 1903. We found that the issue occurs when the following updates are installed from Microsoft, KB4484127, KB4517389 and KB4524147. After we removed them the issue has not returned.

Hi Viking Ryan.

We have had this issue since Visual 6.5.4 off and on.

If you don't want to keep killing all your user's ini settings, try this.

1. Client closes all Visual programs

2. Open the offending ini file

3. Look for the entry like this::

4. Replace tboxPalette_Style=278

dlgToolBar_Style=529

Close, save and re-open Visual. All should be well.

This way all column settings, positions etc will still be preserved for your client.
