Flow to approve several thousands actions in inbasket

We accidentally pushed nearly 10 thousand actions to an inbasket. I can query these workunits so I know what the WU number is for all of them, but is there a landmark trx to 'Approve" an action? Does the "TakeAction" action in PfiWorkunit object do this or is there a better way? All the workunits will be approved so that is the good news. Thanks for any insight.

Take Action is the correct action. With the correct rights, you can go to the Work Units business class screen, right click on a Work Unit and select "Take Action" type Approve in the box and it does the 1st approval for you. All without even opening the Work Unit. It doesn't do all of them at once. So if your flow has multiple approvals, you have to do each. May God have mercy on you if you have different number of approvals because of path differences within the same work flow. That is, branching within the work flow that results in an extra person approving based on some condition.

You can build a flow that approves all of them. Here is a Landmark Transaction that will perform the actual action:

If that works.. you might want take time and see if you can get those in ISD and use an 'update' to set that 'approve'. Not sure as I haven't had to do this one.. .but know I have used ISD to set some overall work unit status. Just a thought.

BUT I don't think that would update the Inbasket items so if they are to managers for example, they wouldn't know they got approved. Not 100% sure but that's my gut without trying it. If that's the case though, you could use the ‘purging of notifications'. Information on that is in Landmark guide and you can do it by a date/actor, etc. (I was just looking at that process last week... docs.infor.com/.../default.html )

Thanks Annette - this only goes to the HR Admin inbasket for HR to approve. It's our year end pay increase. When we do this, we set the changepayrate service to use the immediate flow instead of the normal changepay flow. For some reason, a ton of these did not use the immediateapprove flow and so they ended up in the inbasket. LSD is a good idea too. I will try both. Thanks!

Annette, what object do you think would be best to use? ActionRequest? Workunit? That is where I am not sure in either IPA or LSD...
