Hi,

I would be interested to know which M3 reporting tool(s) among ADHOC REPORTING, REPORT MANAGER and STREAMSERVE is(are) used the most by our members companies.

Is ADHOC REPORTING still used ?

Is REPORT MANAGER used by many companies ?

Are there any other major products used with M3 ?

Ad hoc still used for simple query .

I have the same question , what is the advanced tool could we use for reporting M3 ?

StreamServe is used for the formatting of business documents like invoices, purchase orders, etc. Ad-Hoc reporting and Report Manager are somewhat useful, but pretty much every implementation of M3 I have seen involves some 3rd-party reporting tool such as Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, or something similar. The trick there is to set up a replicated database for reporting purposes so you are not directly accessing the production database via SQL, which can lead to serious performance problems.

Dirk mention that StreamServe. There is also possible to establish Java call and create java class which fetch data via M3 API's. And with M3 custom API CMS100MI this is very powerfull way to get addional data to the prinouts.
