Opera not updating the Nominal Ledger "sometimes" & also posting a receipt the wrong way round

Hi, I wondered if anyone has come across this situation much?

We have a large client that is on the latest version of Opera 3.

Almost EVERY month, their Sales Ledger Control account doesnt tie up to their Aged debt. In one month there could be 5k sales ledger transactions & so we compare STRAN to NTRAN to try & spot the difference. It then becomes apparent that one transaction has updated the sales ledger, but hasnt hit the Nominal Ledger at all.

In Nov & Dec, there was a receipt that had DEBITED the Sales Ledger control & CREDITED the bank

Its not something that we would be able to recreate, nor do we see this on other sites, just this one customer gets this regularly. Clearly something isnt right, but it isnt the sort of call we could log with Pegasus support & I just wondered if anyone else has seen this?

Not seen this before but we do find transactions stuck in snoml and anoml (cash book) even when realtime turned on, you need to transfer them in manually. Check the transactions are updating these files. You could also try entering the debtors control account on the sales account or customers profile, Opera behaves differently when doing this.

Thanks for the replayRichard. Real Time is switched on & we always do a transfer, as like you say things can still be in there. But in these instances, it hasnt hit the SNOML or ANOML tables. Its updated STRAN, SANAL, but not the Nominal & its like oe example in 5k, so difficult to find a reason. Transactions on the same sales account before & after have gone through fine. We suggested switching Real Time update off, but they dont want us to do this as they would like to see the transaction in the Nominal on the day it was raised. V puzzling!!!

Have just had this at one of our larger sites where a receipt posted in the sales ledger as a debit, followed the data through to the cash book and it is wrong in there as well, it feels as if it has put it through as a refund even though it states receipt on the view screen and was posted as a receipt by the customer.

Have reported this to Pegasus but they have only seen this once before, as they can't recreate this we can't move forward with it.

Hi , we reported this to Pegasus too as it happended to one of our customers. The only thing we usually do it correct it in the tables.

Hi, it sounds as if there is a problem there as a couple of our staff members have seen this as well, as you say correct it in the background or post a couple of receipts on (and hope they hit the ledger the right way round!!).

Hi thanks for the replies. Yes we have seen this on three sites. Two get it more regularly than the other & all we can do is fix it in fox. we're kind of caught in the middle - the client complaining, how can this happen with an accounts system....If we cant recreate it, how can Pegasus fix it etc. Interesting we're not the only partners though!!!

Did anyone get to the bottom of this at all? We have a site where this happens intermittently too and have just been fixing it.

we certainly havent & it happens say once every few months. the last time was £50k, so made their accounts out by £100k, which wasnt good!
