We need to find the measures listed below in order for us to track PPE usage. I put the job(s) I thought would be best next to the measure, but am not sure they are correct. I sure others in supply chain are being asked the same questions. I wanted to start a discussion to see how folks were tracking the following.
Daily Need/Usage with IC134/IC135 or IC220?
Current Inventory with IC44
Days On Hand UNKNOWN
Minimal Reserve Level UNKNOWN
Reorder Trigger with IC12/IC120
IC44 displays "Days on Hand" but Infor can't/won't share it on a report or really how they calculate.
IC233 is the Availability report
As our usage is insane, we're not really trusting the IC44's Days on Hand anyway - we export the Available (Either from the 223 or sql formula: SOH Qty- Allocated Qty from the itemloc table) and put it through Excel insanity with current patient counts and expected growth patterns.
I've asked Infor about IC44 and they shared with me the calculation. It is current month and last month usage only. I'll see if I can find the exact calculation they sent to me and post for all.
Check out KB 1190315 for IC44 calculation.
Thanks!
Because usage is so fluid I created a Crystal report that calculates ADU for selected critical PPE over a rolling 21 day period ({ICTRANS.UPDATE_DATE} >= CurrentDate -21).
ADU = SUM (Qty Issued [for {ICTRANS.DOC_TYPE} = "IS"] / 21)
Stock Out Days = (SOH - Allocated) / ADU
21 (or 30) days is ok for current levels assuming constant usage. How do you account for seasonal items/usage? If you normally have stock that is used more often in the summer, how do you differentiate that from COVID spike usage?
Without getting to inundated with data, knowing min, max, mean monthly usage and annual distribution would allow for more accurately identifying the criticality of a particular item.
All the models predict exponential usage, so we're tracking usage over 14 and 7 days, and then using the max of those 2 calculations.
60--days ago was a completely different reality.
This is looking at PPE critical to this Covid-19 crisis. Including usage prior to this crisis only serves to dilute the data. The ADU drops, stock out days increase and the stock out date moves out. Now the report doesn't show a true picture of when we'll be out of critical PPE. At one point the report included a subreport that showed ADU for July through December just for comparison but we dropped that. What PPE usage would spike during the summer?
I think the question was more on how to differentiate seasonal spikes from COVID-19 spikes.
Forecasting in healthcare has never been easy - it's not like toilet paper that (current state excluded) has a very flat usage curve. Yes, you can look at the surgery schedule to anticipate some items, but we don't have massive warehouses, or unlimited budgets, and with short shelf life it's a moving target
Hello, would you be willing to share your crystal report?

Hello Jon A - Would you mind sending the SQL to me at beth.rupp@uchealth.com? Thanks in advance!
Hello, I wanted to provide a link to a video that we have prepared on Infor's v10 Supply Chain management capabilities for tracking products associated with expenditures for COVID-19. This video will walk thru Infor’s recommendation on setting up standard functionality for Major and Minor Purchasing Classes and some reporting options that will provide the ability to track expenditures across your Supply Chain Management v10 applications.
Beginning on Tuesday April 7, at 1pm CST, we will conduct a series of ask the experts sessions where you can connect with Infor resources and other customers to discuss these features, ask questions, and if desired, share how your organization is addressing the management of COVID-19 supplies.?

Tracking and Reporting on Critical Hospital Supplies
For Infor CloudSuite Financials & Supply Chain Management* and v10 Infor Lawson* customers, we have created pre-built dashboards that are designed to help generate faster insights to crucial supplies available and help streamline updates to emergency hospital and government preparedness programs. Below you will find links to two short tutorials that demonstrate how to leverage these new dashboards, develop process automation flows, and track and report on critical supply items. The tutorials cover the following topics:
· Supply Chain Setup for Purchasing Class and Transaction Processing
· Infor Birst Prebuilt Dashboards
· Standard Reporting
· Infor Process Automation Flows

Ask the Infor Expert
We will be hosting four Ask the Infor Expert sessions to hear your comments, answer any questions you have regarding the tutorials, and to entertain open discussions with our subject matter experts. Infor welcomes the opportunity to hear your thoughts and discuss how we can work together to help overcome some of the challenges that have arisen from COVID-19. Should you have any questions relating to the tutorials, Ask the Infor Expert sessions, or would like to discuss other ways we can help you, please contact Roger Russell, Senior Vice President - Product Management at roger.russell@infor.com and Melissa Amell, Director Healthcare Strategy - Supply Chain at melissa.amell@infor.com.
