Use CMS045 to trigger Event based alerts having EventAnalytics as event publisher

Has anyone tried at CMS045 / CMS047 to subscribe to EventAnalytics instead of M3 ?

According to help text it's possible and gives you possibility to build complicated Event Analytic Rule with functionality of Time Correlation reducing number of published events but still having CMS047 alert functionality.

Hi Piotr,

For an OP installation...

1) Start by subscribing M3 to an event called MyCustomEvent coming from EventAnalytics (case sensitive), choose proper operation code (avoid CU or combination of operation codes, it does not work properly), something like this:

2) I strongly recommend you use Smart Rules to build your rule that you will upload in EventAnalytics because it's cloud compliant. I don't know if you are OP or not.

-set the subscription of EA to the event produced by M3

-eventName = TimeCorrelation, operation=request

-set the filter if necessary (top right)... but yeah, a filter is mandatory.

Add the fields you want to see in your event in "EventFields" tab:

Most importantly, define the following virtual fields that will be used by EventAnalytics to retain the event a certain number of seconds before releasing it. Be aware that it works differently in the cloud edition (it's a 2 minutes window).

correlatedEventOperation = 'UPDATE'

delayTime = '60s' for example ( = number of seconds the event is retained in EA before being released)

dataEventId : unique key to identify the event... a combination of fields that you must use to make sure the event ID is unique in the EA virtual "database"... everything is stored in memory

For example dataEventId = "XXX_"+ITNO+BANO+CAMU if you are working with MITLOC file where XXX is a free fixed value

3) Save the rule, export it in a file and deploy in EventAnalytics

Click rules package, choose "file" and select the exported .rulespack

4) Test : cry/smile

Thank you for replay. That's exactly what I was looking for. You just remind me how i did it in the past on premise and i lost my documentation.

Now the challenge for me - to prove that we can have the same on the MT Cloud ... - keep you posted if you want to know.

Sure you can.

For M3CE, have a look at M3BOD_ItemMaster EventAnalytics session, rule MITMAS_UPDATE_ItemMaster and check tabs "Published event" and "Fields", you will find nearly the same info.

Here the correlatedEventName is M3BEBOD because all trigger to IEC are going through M3BODProcessor but in your case, you don't need it. You just want M3 to receive this released event.

You can do it in MEC also without Events...
