Are any of you using CSF Analytics (on Birst) for your GL Income Statements, Trial Balance reporting? How do you handle 'near real time' especially around month-end? How often are you running replication sets/birst orchestrations?
Thank you
Hi Annette - we are not using that functionality, but it sounds like your company has similar requirements to ours for that real-time trial balance reporting capability. I just entered two ER's around this a few weeks back and would love your support for them.
ER-55301: Real-Time Journal Entry Processing
ER-55302: Native Trial Balance Functionality
Happy to discuss further if you have questions on what we've asked for!
Thank you. I will definitely endorse 55302. I need to reach out on 55301 because I think we have 'real time posting'. We are not using a job and are not using approval processes. I'm in IT so I reached out to our finance manager to vote/comment.
Yes, we've been challenged with dumping data out to other reporting tools for financial reporting and especially at month end when various edits are identified/needed and have to wait 2+hours for data to update. This has been huge challenge/complaint. And we are starting on CSF Analytics now but now hearing different than what have heard previously. Had heard during month end to just run extra Orchestration but now seems like that is still a full replication set run and regular orchestration.. not even close to 'near real time' that my business area is needing.
Hi Annette,
We aren't live with using Birst officially for our reporting, but to tackle this issue we've created a GL Only orchestration that can be ran ad-hoc for month end. This orchestration takes about 1/12th the time to process as the delivered full daily orchestration which for us equals 12 minutes on average. It makes the dashboards unavailable for approximately 2 minutes for both finance and supply chain so it's minimally disruptive. When you include the replications the whole process is done in under 20 minutes. Here's how we have it set up:
Thank you very much for your response and sharing how you are handling. I have made note of this for our design as we are just getting started.
Thanks, Annette - look forward to hearing from your Finance team as this would be a big win if we can figure out the "real-time" posting.
