General Ledger Closing Flow

Based on my prior experience, Inventory is usually closed first, however, in the Infor GL User Guide it shows to close Inventory after Purchasing, Payables and Billing. Is this the case and if so, what is the reason to close Inventory after these other modules. Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Except for billing we close in that order. I am guessing here. I would assume PO to stop inventory receipts from needing to flow to IC. AP so that there are no new cost adjustments that could potentially need to flow to IC and then IC. We close billing later in the month because we have bills that we cannot send out until we have other information available and to services performed during the month. None of our billing has anything to do with stock in our inventories.

Prior experience from me: PO and IC close essentially at the same time, immediately followed by AP. AP will release all batches and run the AP175 prior to PO/IC closing. Supply Chain and Accounts Payable coordinate and do this earlier in the morning to not disrupt staff from their usual work. GL closes at some later date, based on their schedule. I haven't used the Billing module. Charles's information (guess) looks good/logical, too.
