Has anyone tried to use the Visual 7.0 client on a windows 8 OS? Was it compatible or were there issues?

We have never tried it because after searching the knowledge database with the same type of question, it showed that they haven't even started to make Visual compatible with W8. And really haven't even thought about wanting to try anytime soon.

We have two clients running Visual 7.0 on Windows 8, with no difficulties.

I have it installed and have had no problems...was just as simple as installing it on window 7 or xp

Okay so it looks like it will run. I would appreciate it if the Infor people would chime in to discuss or let us know if and when they plan to add support for it. Thank you for your help all.

Well, that's good to know. We may have to test it out here too.

I also have it installed on Microsoft Surface Pro

I just installed VISUAL 7.0.0 SP3 on 6 new Dell Windows 8 desktops our company purchased. These client computers run off a SBS 2008 server. It took me a while to figure out how to get the networking / antivirus issues solved but the program (VISUAL) seems to run normally. INFOR couldn't guarantee that VISUAL would install and I can't say their input helped me a lot. How do I tell if VISUAL doesn't work...besides waiting for it to crash?

Don,
Just a suggestion. Have six of your heavier users take teh new computers and log into a sandbox. Have them do all kinds of transactions ect just to see if it runs ok.

Related to running VISUAL 7.0.0 on Windows 8 client desktops, we've encountered the following issues specific to importing and exporting to Excel. We installed Office 2013 on our Windows 8 desktops. Up until today, VM seemed to be working fine. One of our users reported that, "When in the VM Manufacturing window, I’m unable to export BOM to Excel using menu item File:Send to Microsoft Excel," and, "When in the VM Manufacturing window I’m unable to import Excel BOM to VM using menu item File: Import from Microsoft Excel."
Could this be perhaps that VM is not pointed correctly at where the new version of Excel is run from? Or is this issue related to something else - permissions, etc.? Has anyone any suggestions?
