We are using a modified version of the IC527 program to pass Item additions and changes to EPIC and have a few interfaces from EPIC to Lawson.
unknown
We use a batch interface to upload item changes into Epic Optime. In lieu of IC527 we are pulling an SQL extract from Lawson. What details are you looking for?

We are in the beginning phase of the EPIC project. We (Materials Mangement) are being told that the Nurse Friendly names and charge codes should reside in the Lawson Database. I am just lookign to see how others are handling this. EPIC wants the information in the Lawson Database so when they run an interface it picks up this information.

The charge codes are stored on PC10. What version of Lawson are you running? Currently in 9.0.1 the item description fields in Lawson are too short to hold the Nurse Friendly names so we pass what we have in Lawson on an add but they are then changed manually, if necessary, in EPIC and are not updated on an item change. Lawson has added another long description field, for this purpose,in version 10 but I do not believe a retrofit was built for version 9.

Our EPIC user group will approve and use an 'alias' to be added to Optime to clarify an item's description if the Lawson Item Master description needs further detail.

FYI... IC524 has been updated in both 9.0.1 and 10.0.x to include information like GTIN details and user fields (which some people use to store charge codes instead of PC10). The new 350 character long item description is included for version 10 only. IC524 is also used as the source file for the item master interface within the Infor Clinical Bridge, which leverages Cloverleaf to provide a pre-delivered interface between Infor Lawson Supply Chain Management and Epic.

I'm on 9.01 interfacing with an sql to Epic in lieu of the IC5XX formats so we can link to other fields - I'm currently housing 80 character "nurse alias" as the UPN1 "Manufacturer Product Description" - it's a child of IC11 - IC11.3 - We create the "UPN" as the Item and the UOM is the Stock UOM.
Epic EAP = Charge number in PC10 - we are not currently populating anything other than Charge number and item there.

Kat Vila, would you be able to discuss how your are doing that?
OR
If anyone has a method to get multiple PAR locations mapped to a single Epic OpTime inventory location with multiple Balance records (1 for each PAR) I would appreciate it.
I have been able to get multiple PAR locations mapped through a Report Group and the IC527 but when it passes the Bin/Shelf information over it gets lost going to 1 Inventory Location in OpTIme.
TIA
