Capture job output and include in email?

Have a custom program submitted through IPA in webrun node. The custom program displays total records processed and errored in joblog output in job scheduler. Is there a way to capture that and include in an email to the users (email node is part of the flow already)? TIA

Hi - I'm sorry - I should have been more clear. I know the file resides in that folder on our Linux server - but the name changes every time the job runs. I'm trying to figure out how to do it in IPA - to pass either that file to the email node or be able to maybe do a grep or something like that to find the data in the joblog? I'm still learning IPA so I'm far from being an expert. Just wondering if anyone has done something like this before? Thanks!

Actually - I just thought of something - the counts in the joblog are related to the 2 output files I create. Maybe I should just count the records in those files, and somehow capture the counts to go into the email node, instead of trying to look at the joblog. Any thoughts on how I could do that?

The joblog file is made up of the first 8 chars (I tihnk) of the jobname, with the job id number as the extension. The job number is included in the output of the webrun node. the job number is good to have, because then you can look up your job in QUEUEDJOB and get the job status back.

You can get a record count of each file using a utility like grep or wc (lots of good syntax examples on line) in a syscmd node.

As an old programmer, I would probably get the counts both ways and compare them, as an audit

I came across a similar issue when building a flow to print a report output through the System Command Node (report type and name would change).

So I have 2 thoughts with regards to this item.

1 - you could add the file pathway as an attachment with a variable that points to the job name from the Lawson Transaction Node that changes the parameters of the job.

2 - the other option would be to FTP the job to another directory on the server (where it would overwrite the previous file) and then have the e-mail node look at that particular location for the file to attach.

I have a flow similar to this. We go into the file system and read the file using the File Access Node and place the output of the File Access node into the body of an email.

you can use a System command node to get the name of all the files in a particular directory, then use the file access node to ready said files.

I have a flow that attaches the print file from a users job onto an email. To do this we move the file from the directory it is written to over to the LPS/emailattachments directory under LAWDIR/system and assign the name to a variable. Then on the attachment tab of the email node you can actually choose the variable as an attachment.

One other note, though it sounds like you may have your solution - I will use a Webrun to generate a .pdf version of a job's results and attach it to the email to the users. Just to format it to look a little better if I'm attaching the job results.
