H5 scripting Get values from Combobox and check the role of users and throw an error/ message via di

Hi,

I have a requirement in PCS280/E. Where there is a combobox for a functionality called as "Upd rule". I need to restrict if certian user roles selects the option "3" in that combo box I have to throw a message via dialogbox that your role does't permit this option to you.

Does anybody have a example or a sample script for the combobox values check and its validation.

I have seen few examples but they are of adding the combo box by a H5 script

To avoid alert message, remove the option 3 from combo box where Role not applied...

That's made using a simple H5 script

Thanks for your comments. But I have already resolved this with the below code in H5 script.

Where checkChange is the method where I throw a dialog box warning if user tries to change the combo box values

This needs to be handled on the server as well, for example with those new extentions methods that you can add. Have the client check like this is usability and not security as any communication with the server can be done through different tools as long as you have access.

I'm just saying that for this to be secure a validation check is needed on the server. Never trust the client to prevent and control anything.

For some scenarios usability migh be OK as long as customer asking for this change understands the difference.
