Opera II with Avast
Legacy Contributor
Has anyone else come across problems with slow Opera II load times (esp logging in) with Avast installed on a Windows 7 PC? We have excluded all the Opera II folders however this makes no difference. It still takes a long time even running in Safe mode.

Hi Darren,
We have not heard of any issues with Avast. If the A / V software is removed does the problem go away? I realise that it is not easy to completely remove the Avast software but as you say - simply excluding the folders may not solve the issue.
Many thanks

Darren,
Does it have a real time scanning option, try disabling that. Also have you excluded the client temp folder. Could also be the server is still scanning all files when the pc requests the file.
Think opera builds a new framework as it loads so there's a lot of files being accessed on loading.
How long does the server itself take to load the client ?
hope that helps

@Ben
, yes uninstall the A/V from the client and it goes away.
@Kiran
, even disabling the software didn't resolve it. We had to completely uninstall it. Pretty sure we included the client temp folder if you mean OII client as I don't want to exclude teh windows temp folder. Server loads almost instantly - equivalent to client with A/V uninstalled. Ah well we've binned it now and gone with something different.
