File Channels - when data type is file name
Legacy Contributor
I wanted to use the file channel process to start a flow that will do an importdb of the file that just showed up---but the file gets moved to the "processed" directory before I can process it in the flow.
Should the file that gets recognized by the channel be a dummy file so that the importdb in the command node has time to process the real file?

No you can use the actual file as the trigger. On the receiver, in the Data field, what option did you choose? To use the actual data in the file, I have File Data selected.

I found 2 solutions to this problem. The first is to have the dummy file be the trigger. The channel moves the dummy file to the "processed" folder and then the flow is called and uses the real file for the importdb.
The second was to use the real file as the trigger. the channel moves it to the processed folder and calls the flow. The first node of the flow ftp's the file back to the apps server in a sub-directory and the importdb can occur. this process took 1 second to move and load 1400 records.
If I use the file data option on the receiver, I will only be able to process 1 record at a time. Since some of the files will have 9000 or more records, we don't want to do an ags call to load them into Lawson.
