Customer Order Entry Toolbars
Legacy Contributor
Has anyone experienced a problem with the Personal, Main, and/or Table toolbars disappearing from the Customer Order Entry screen? I have a user who has all three checked in View tab, but they do not show up on her screen. This occurred before we upgraded to Visual 7.1.2. When the new release was installed in July, they reappeared, and now have disappeared again. It seems to be happening on only this one user as far as I know. Any suggestions?

We've experienced the issue in v7.0. Try maximizing or restoring the screen size using the buttons in the upper right hand corner of windows.

I've seen this once or twice and we solved it by copying the VMORDENT.exe file (or whichever window is missing toolbars) from a PC where it works correctly to the once where it has an issue.

I've had this problem once or twice every few months.
I've found that if you make sure these lines appear in your VISUAL.INI or that you replace them when the file becomes corrupt, you'll be set.

Korey beat me to it. Assuming you do a "client only" install like everyone really should be doing (unless you're multi-site - and even then it is debatable), then there will be no local vmordent.exe to copy from.
Assuming that is the case your vmordent is coming from the server anywho, so Korey's solution will fix the values in place forcing vmordent to draw itself into those values.
If that still does not work, then I would recommend you try uninstalling Visual from the user entirely. Step 2 is also making sure to locate and remove every single trace of "INFOR" and "VISUAL MANUFACTURING" from every key in the registry (Regedit or REGEDT32 if you need more granular perms controls) except maybe "MRU" lists - these are just historical references - like your "Recent Documents" list is and can be left intact. It won't mess up Visual client apps, especially as described here.
....and of course, reinstall once cleaned out. Be sure to remove Gupta, runtimes, etc. Only the Report Builder stuff *may be* left alone, but even that I would hack out if it's there. My $.02

Thanks for all the great responses. Some of the suggestions we have already tried to no avail. Our configs are now coming from the server as I understand. I forwarded the last response to our "IT" guy as it is a bit beyond my area of expertise. Hopefully, it will take care of the recurring problem.

Re-installed Visual on user's computer, and the tool bars are now there! Again, thanks for all the suggestions!!
