RQC error question
unknown
RQC user ordering off a stock shopping template. After he has several things under requisition lines the next stock item gives him this error "
Requester set-up Vendor required with special items". So this is a stock item-everything he orders thus far is stock. I can order the item, he deleted the item and reordered it later. Lawson drives me crazy somedays. Anyone run into this? Why would this item cause this error and then turn around and let him order it?

Nancy - Does the requester have "0-Do Not Require Vendor" in the require vendor on special items field in RQ04? Also is the item in question built in IC12?
unknown
Denny-All of our RQ04 records are 1 to require a vendor for all requesters ad yes IC12 exists but this is a stock item and should never have generated this error.

So on the req the item type for this item is showing as "X" Special not "I" Inventory? Is the source vendor on IC12 current? I can't really think of anything else that would cause this error, sorry. I can try to duplicate the error in our test system.

Type was always I-this error should have never happened. He deleted and ordered it later without problem. He had not ordered any x types-was just going down his shopping template and ordering stock items but for a moment-Lawson must have thought it was a not a stock item and I have no idea why it thought that.

One thing I have learned in 4 years with Lawson, timing is everything. I have seen errors one time and could never figure it out. Sometimes there are changes taking place I'm not aware of, I have an error reported, spend hours researching only to find nothing wrong. It's all part of the fun I guess.

Thanks-I usually just chalk it off to Lawsonitis after a while but I try to see if anyone ran into to so I can add to my help sheet.

Our users also experience those occasional totally unexplained errors that I spend hours trying to troubleshoot and I am not able to recreate. RQC seems to cache previous requisition activity. I train all users encouraging them to click NEW when beginning every new requisition, training documentation has also been updated to reflect the same. When I am working with a seasoned user troubleshooting, I again reiterate, the importance of beginning every new requisition by clicking NEW.
unknown
That is a great point. We also emphasize the importance of starting by clicking New. Users sometimes use RQC for research and not ordering. Then when they do order, the last session is used.

Lawson having hiccups seems to be the likely cause - but if it is the same item, same template - you may want to check PO15 and force company and from location on that specific line.
unknown
There is also an internet explorer setup that you can change so that it does not cache a previous visit to RQC. We have had issues with old RSS search forms all of a sudden appearing, and that is how we solve it for that user.
