2020 Year End W2, 1099 and ACA
- No changes necessary for W2s for the 2020 filing year.
- Changes necessary for 1099’s for the 2020 filing year.
The zip file, included in this Wiki posting, contains the changed program APP731 that you can drop into place.
Changes Notes:
Prior years FACTS used form 1099-MISC to report nonemployee compensation in box 7. Beginning with this filing year an old form is being brought back by the IRS, form 1099-NEC. Prior to this year FACTS 1099 output was designed for Box 7 of the 1099-MISC, but, that box is no longer present on that form having been moved to use 1099-NEC.
FACTS 1099 output of nonemployee compensation for filing year 2020 is designed for the 1099-NEC. (Prior years will still be formatted for form 1099-MISC.)
When the checkbox for "Use Laser Form" is selected for 1099-NEC, output is 2 to a page and Unform Archiving is not available.
When the checkbox for "Use Laser Form" is NOT selected for 1099-NEC, output is 1 to a page and Unform Archiving IS available.
- Changes necessary for ACA (Affordable Care Act) for the 2020 filing year.
Only form 1095-C, page 1 and page 3 have changes
No changes are necessary for other forms.

FACTS now allows management of newly added “zip code Box 17” via existing procedures using spreadsheet entry; zip codes, when necessary, may be entered in the newly added zip code columns at the end of each listed row. (Prior years form output will still be formatted for the old layout, without Box 17.)
