IC12 Inventory Item not Reordering
susan-kirkbride
We have a lab inventory item that is not reordering. Based on IC50, it looks like the last time it auto ordered was on 7/9 but since then, it hasn't worked. We've had this issue before but usually find a problem with the vendor number not being changed on a screen, etc. This time we can't find anything wrong and the item repeatedly shows up on the IC140 but doesn't go through to a PO. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Is the item even getting to PO23?

I didn't even think about checking there. Yes, it was in there. We deleted it out to see if it will reorder on the next order day.

If you run PO100 to create POs for the lab inventory, run it with the Print Exception Report = 2. If the item doesn't go to a PO then at least the exception report will tell you why.

We do have it setup to run that way, but it wasn't on the exception report. In the past we've had items get stuck in PO23 if the timing was just right that something was being done on the contract. We had been changing information for this specific item on the contract a few days ago so I am wondering if that's what happened. We will see if it orders next week. Thanks for your help, I may be posting again if it doesn't end up working next week either.

Hey Jordanchs - Without a contract you will still get the item to reorder from IC12 using IC140. The only thing to keep the item from not being pulled on PO100 is no cost or no vendor, but it will still be in PO23.1. Before running PO100 you could run PO234 to get a list of items that will most likely not pull to PO. These can be corrected before running PO100, so you don't have as much work as trying to add them after the fact. If there is an issue with cost it may be that the agreement wasn't released after the change was made. Other than that you just want to make sure the parameters are correct on PO100 (Buyer, Vendors, Shipto, Itemtype, Acct Units, etc.).

Review the IC192 for the item to see if there were changes to the IC12 settings that affect the replenishment. Common issues on IC12:
Auto Purchase = N
Reorder Document <> P
Allow Receipts = N

The item wouldn't make it to PO23 if either of these settings was the case.

The original issue did not say the item made it to PO23. It says it is not reordering. If the item makes it to the PO23, it is ordering. Just because a PO shows up on IC50, does not mean it auto ordered. The item could have been requisitioned. I would start with the IC12 settings.

I ran the IC192 yesterday and nothing that would cause problems had been changed. It was switched to a new vendor/contract at the beginning of the month, but it ordered as it should have after that. The second time it should have ordered, it did not. We only run the IC140 for this inventory on T/TH, so I am waiting to see now if it will reorder after removing it from PO23 since it seemed to be hanging there. Thanks for all the suggestions.

True. Since it was deleted from PO23 we don't know if what he saw was from IC or RQ. But he did say that the item was showing up to reorder on the IC140 report. So I'm assuming that IC12 is fine and there's a problem with the PO23/PO100 process.

I agree. Before you remove it out of PO23.1 check the source record. Nonetheless, you can check requisition history for the item to see if was recently placed on a requisition. That should tell you if it was a req or IC140. Items that are set to Auto PO 'N' still show up on the IC140 report they just don't go to PO23.1.

If you don't want to wait until next week's order day you could turn the worksheet filter to Y on your IC140 (add Friday to your order days) and then delete all items but this one from IC66. Then release this item to PO23, run PO234 for your lab location and see what issues the item has if any.

True Stace.

Our IC140 runs everyday but the PO's are only created on T/TH. I can see the item in PO23 again (it was from IC last time and also this time). We are waiting until Tuesday and trying not to do anything manually to see if it will work as it should.
