Specific ORDER to run Purge Programs: HR / FIN / MM Suites
byron-byrd
We are about to embark on a huge initiative to purge data files based on approved Retention Policies. We have been a client of Lawson since 1999, and have not purged any data. I am very interested in any documentation / direction related to the order in which these programs should be run. My objective is to improve overall system performance and expedite upgrades, maintenance CTP,MSP,ESP while reducing downtime. Thank you very much.

We'd be interested in this as well. Same goals. No established data retention policies, though.
At Inforum 2013, I was talking with a vendor there. TeamAbsolute about their archive S3 solution.

Not being a huge fan of the Lawson/Infor purge programs since they never seem to keep enough or the correct stuff around for our auditors we have never run any of them to purge any data in our 12 year Infor implementation.
Other things have since come up, and my focus has gone away from exploring these types of solutions... but it sounds like there are others out there that may be on the same path as we are.
Any input or recommendations would be appreciated on my part as well!

We have been a Lawson/Infor user since 1999. We have never purged our data and would love to. Please let me know what you use and how it works out for you.
Good Luck!

We also have been a Lawson User since 1999 and have never done a purge/archive. We are starting to look into this, since our backups are taking so long to complete now because of our file sizes. I would also be very interested to see how other companies are handling.

Other than running the purge programs, I understand that TeamAbsolute's archive-s3 solution is the only other supported solution by Infor and (if you believe what the salespeople tell you) will be a part of Infor/Lawson in an up-coming release.

NTT Data (formerly Revere Group) also has an archive utility.
