Using XtendM3 table data in M3CE

With the new CMS080 (CDF) restriction to be implemented we need to convert some of our customizations using the CUGEX1 file to use XtendM3 tables. Our understanding is that we have until October 2021 to do this.
In order to make the move we need the following functionality to be available with XtendM3 tables:
• Configurable XML-s for IDM
• Custom Lists and Custom List API-s
• Configurable list panels
• Ad hoc reports
• Data Lake integration (for BI reporting)

Is this functionality available in M3Ce using XtendM3 tables, and if not, when will it be available?

It seems that the use of Xtend tables are allowed in CMS010 & adhoc report : check April 2021 updates

We can add EventAnalytics rules on Xtend tables but there is already a post on this topic.

And what about CUGEX2 and CUGEX3 ? Will a limitation occur in the future ?

Yes, the same question applies to CUGEX2 and CUGEX3. However, these are not extension tables that are linked to a main table. We use them mainly to keep some parameter settings.

What I have understood as well is that free fields will be added to transactional tables like OOHEAD and OOLINE. Does anyone know if and when this will happen? It would be great if this can be done to all main transaction file that will become 'forbidden" in CMS080 in October. In that case XtendM3 tables only have to be used for stand alone applications, and the free fields can be used to instead of the file extensions.

CUGEX2 and X3 are not affected by the change in October. They do have the same technical limitation as CUGEX1 and should not be flooded with massive data volumes but we have not seen that anywhere so it is less of a problem.

What is the best practice with Dynamic tables (xtendm3) and H5 scripts ? Do we need to create a new xtendM3 API get/add/upd to manage the new table and use the new xtendM3 API from H5 Script. Is that the best way or do we have other options ? Thanks
