Any advice would be really appreciated

I have a customer who has multiple companies, and in just one of these companies when they go into Supply Chain ManagementInvoicing when they select to create a new invoice and choose to publish this (doesn't matter whether to screen/printer etc.,.) the egg timer comes up and it does nothing?

I have tried using different report layouts and I can create invoices ok in other companies so the module itself is working ok, it is just in this company.

I have checked IHEAD/ITRAN for blank lines and ran an SOP re-organise and UDS on the company and all ok?

Anyone any ideas as it isn't producing an error, just hangs.

Try changing the 'Use Opera PDF Printer' setting to the opposite of whatever it is currently.

Hi Alan, just tried that and still the same. This is very very strange as they invoiced without a problem last month in this particular company and it is working ok in other companies :-(

Does it do the same on the actual Opera server? i.e. if you did this directly on the server.

Is the data in the same location i.e. folder as the other companies, if its a different folder is the folder excluded from AV scanning

Can they create Documents or Quotes in that company ?

Hi Alan, no cannot create any type of document in the invoicing module for that particular company. Works ok in the other companies so able to rule out the module itself.

Take it that the company's have a prefixed layout so they don't use the same one?, you mentioned changing layouts, don't know if you have already done this as a test, if they are prefixed have you tried copying one from a company that works fine and renaming it to work on the one with a problem.... it is weird one as at that point its looking and the layouts and printers.

What about credit notes is it the same?

It's all document types - cannot create anything, quotations/orders/invoices/credits - i've removed any pre-fixed documents to try and get it to use the standard layouts and still the same. At a complete loss as I've never seen anything like this and works fine in other companies so thought it must be something to do with ihead/itran but cannot see any issue in there either :-(

I think the conversation & checks have successfully ruled out the indexes. The symptom suggests Opera is going around in a circle (much like index corruption). I'd suggest checking the ITRAN table for duplicate values in the ID field - not an easy task but they *should* be sequential.

You can check with:

select id, cnt(id) as c group by id having c>1 from z_itran

If that returns any records then there are duplicates and the id's are in the result.

Hi Peter, i cleared IHEAD/ITRAN using the SOP re-organise as they only use if for invoices/credits so I was able to re-org right up to today which then left ITRAN/IHEAD totally empty and still doing the same. My colleague brought back an earlier backup from last month (6th April) which works ok, so something has happened between now and then - trying to suss what other tables are getting called at point of creating new? Can reprint a previously created invoice ok....

Morning Alan, no nothing has changed with their Opera3 - no modules added or upgrades. They were able to invoice via SOP up until 5th May when they carried out invoicing for April and then ran the sales period end. The sales processing module is fine and they ran their payroll on Tuesday of this week which was all fine. I'm going to escalate this to Pegasus this morning as it is a real stumbler. I'm going to go down the data table with fine tooth comb this morning as I'm convinced it is another table (other than ihead/itran) causing the issue.

This rings vague bells for me so I had a look through old incidents of ours. See Incident 9040358. I would be checking in the area of warehouses and which ones are set for issues.

Hi Alan, you are genious - thank you so much!! Although they have the stock module which is in use for other companies, it is not used in this company so on checking CWARE there was no warehouse - I created a MAIN and set the issues flag on and voila, it has worked :-) I cannot thank you enough.....
Thank you so much to everyone who has given advice and help on this and apologies for the barrage of emails everyone has been getting. This Community is so helpful and only hope I can be of help to someone one of these days!
