Label generation for parts picked from a work order material pick list
We have purchased Dymo printers to generate labels for the peice parts we pick from the work order material pick list, but we're having problems configuring this correctly. We're currently putting the batch number in an Excel spread sheet which then pulls the info from Visual and sorts using piece #/sub id (10, 20, 30 etc) from the BOM to generate each label with it's associated info (qty, description, trace ref etc) but I'm not convinced this is the way to go. We also have problems if we have to de-kit then re-kit a batch as it prints each label twice. Coupled with the above we can only print the labels from a batch when every material has been traced, which of course means picking all materials, keeping a track of what's what then printing the labels for all.
Has anyone else gone down the route of label generation for piece parts picked for specific batches? If so any help would be greatly appreciated with regards to set up. I've looked through the books but can't find any standard functionality for this within Visual.
