Healthcare - Has anyone interfaced Lawson Supply Chain with Siemens Sensis?

Good afternoon,

We are looking at the feasibility of interfacing our Lawson S3 Supply Chain system with the Siemens Sensis system in our Cath Lab. Sensis is used to capture items used in a procedure and billing. We talked with our Sensis support team and there is not a delivered interface to Lawson. We are looking to create two interfaces:

• Interfacing the items from the Cath Lab location from Lawson into Sensis
• Interfacing items used during a procedure from Sensis into Lawson

Has anyone had any success with interfacing the two systems?

Interfaced to a number of 3rd party system - never to Sensis, but it's the same process.

Getting the Cath Lab data out would use one of the IC52x programs depending on the amount of data you needed - they all vary somewhat in how they operate. I assume by "Cath Lab location" this is a specific IC12 which can be designated in these programs as the output location.

Inbound you're either looking at an RQ500 to run this data into requisitions for replenishment, or IC500 to perform an inventory decrement if you want to affect the perpetual quantities. **I have had very limited success with inventory decrement as there's a lag time between issue and procedure close that triggers the data back to Lawson - RQ500 is the more reliable route.

With that said - the question is "can Sensis manage transformation" if Sensis can digest the IC52x output directly, and produce an RQ500 file you're golden. If not, you'll need a translator. You may have IBM Transformation Extender (ITX/WTX formerly used for Lawson EDI), or Cloverleaf as part of your system already or your organization may use another engine. Either way you'll need to do a mapping exercise.

Assuming this is all good, then it's a matter of moving the files in and out and setting the most effective timing.

PS - This is one of the reasons CloudSuite was developed. There are delivered tools in CloudSuite that allow you (not a programmer or consultant) to create and transmit data back and forth.
