Description
When processing warehouse shipments, if a shipment in a 'Shipped' state but not 'Finished', it will set the GL post date for whenever it was shipped, but if there is a delay in finishing the transaction, the transaction won't occur until the shipment is finished. This is causing issues with the financials when trying to post transactions to a period that has already closed.
Proposed Solution
On handheld devices in MSCM, it would help to have an error message appear when processing detailing what might be preventing the shipment from being shipped (if there is insufficient quantity for an item or what line specifically is causing the issue). Reducing the time it takes MM staff to identify and resolve errors would assist in being able to avoid delays in processing. There are some instances where users will put a shipment in a 'Shipped' status, but they do not go back and move it into 'Finished' status. If it is sending supplies from the central supply room to a department, it would be helpful if an action 'Ship and Finish' could be put into place so that the warehouse shipment does not remain in the 'shipped' status causing issues.
Thank you!

Voted. Providing user feedback in lieu of requiring additional team communication seems logical.

Have you considered scheduling Shipment Release to run everyday (at the end of the day)? That will release all shipments that have been "finished" but not released.

Thank you Sandeep. I have passed this onto the team for review and consideration.
