Conversion from Oracle to SQL Server. Does anyone have guidelines or advice for doing this conversion?
Thanks,
Connie
In March migrated from Visual 7 on Oracle to Visual 9 on SQL. We partner with Petros724. Their Database Guru did Oracle to SQL conversion for us. I know that it took a lot of time and diligence to compile Oracle to SQL conversion scripts and then run them. However, the results are wonderful, we had no surprises and go live went really well.
@acash might have some insight on that; his company was one of the only remaining Oracle customers some years ago until they went back to SQL Server...
@systemsadminas --- whaaattttt ".. one of the only remaining Oracle customers some years ago.." FYI - we are still on Oracle, and can tell you, we are not the only one left.
Well, I should say they were the only customer in the New England group at the time; that may have certainly changed with newer versions / support and/or pricing structures...
We are running Oracle Database 19.12 with Visual 9.0.8. In the last week I helped two other companies using Oracle Database with Visual, and I know of two other companies within 20 miles that are also using Oracle Database with Visual. So, there are still a few companies around that are able to leverage the capability of Oracle Database.

Yes, there are still plenty of Oracle database deployments out there.
