ODBC Field Length Limit
Legacy Contributor
Hi,
I see an entry in the Infor KB regarding the record field length limit of 8000 characters. Just wondered if anyone may have found a solution without having to create a new file or change the file/field length and definition.
Thank you,
Resolution:
In order for the Note 'B' files to be accessed with the ODBC Driver, the record length for the note field must be reduced below 8000. It is not possible to do this in the standard product since there are customers currently using notes greater than 8000 characters. If a customer needs to access these notes with the ODBC driver, a new file must be created for each file they need to access with the record length for the note field
NOTE: It has been reported from the field that a 'B' file defined with a record size of 10240 has been successfully accessed with the ODBC driver.
