How would you set up these items in LN based on the information below.
We manufacture a profile (shape of a product), the only variant to this is the length.
So the customer will order Profile A, 50 each @ 3m, 100 each @ 4m, 200 each @ 5m, each length will have a different price (either priced per m or priced each)
When we manufacture it is always the same process - we set up the machine for the profile, we then manufacture the different length product, we then strip the machine.
For example: We set the machine for the profile (10 hour set), we manufacture the product by length (e.g. roll the 3m then the 4m then the 5m), this requires minimal change between sizes.
We do not always roll the same lengths every time we manufacture, it is based on demand, so we could set the machine and only roll one length size.
The cost price for each length must show an element of the cost for set hours, manufacture hours and material content.
We split the material consumed over the different length sizes.
Our current set up is an item per length size, so we raise 3 production orders, each production order will have 10 hour set in the routing (which is incorrect), giving us an incorrect estimated cost.
