Shortcut Keys in Opera 3

Hi All,

Have any of you come accross a problem with the shortcuts keys in Opera 3 working on certain Client PC's but not on others.

Version of Opera 3 is 2.81.60 and PC has Windows 10 Version 20H2 build 19042.1348.

All the standard functionallity is working fine but on just a few PC's they cant use the shortcut keys.

If someone has come accross this , any help would be appreciative.

As with most issues here, i have logged this with Pegasus Support but got no help so far.

Do you mean clicking on the icons in the toolbar doesn't work ?

Hi Alan,

Yes , exactly that.

No response from any of the keys.

You can expand the Action menu or click any of the Function Keys F4 etc and all works but these shortcuts dont respond.

There was an issue where WebRoot antivirus was interfering with that toolbar on one site, but that issue was an error 0x on login. What AV do they have? Have you tried reinstalling the client ?

Does clicking the button get visual feedback? I.e., left-click and hold one of the toolbar buttons down: does it show the pressed version of the icon? If not, then it could be the ALT key button has been left in the down state. I've seen this happen with users that rapidly ALT+Tab between applications and personally from remotely accessing machines. Press and release the ALT key on the keyboard to return normal functionality.

Explanation: pressing down on a key is a different action to lifting off the key & both events are separately sent to the OS for interpretation (and onto the relevant application). Especially when working remotely, ALT+Tab out of the remote session can leave the remote session without an up-event for the ALT button.
