Infor Tab (ISD) Disappearing in Microsoft Excel

Hey Everyone,

Are there any other customers out there that have had the issue of the Infor tab for Infor Spreadsheet Designer disappearing?

It appears the Infor Add-in becomes disabled, and we would have to go in to the Microsoft Excel Settings -> Options -> Add-In's and re-enable the Add-In. I am interested in how long you have had the problem, and if you identified a solution.

Hi Ben. We occasionally find this occurring after monthly release updates. We typically follow the path you have taken in Excel and just reenable the COM Add-In and it works fine from there... until the next time it happens. It is a frustration but does not take long to clear up, hence we have not pursued any analysis of underlying identification of the issue and attempted a more permanent solution.

Ben, we have had people at Benchmark that have had this issue off and on since our go-live on HR Talent in December 2020. I have only had it happen once in that time but others have it happen 8 or 9 times in a year. It generally happens after an update weekend, so I have gotten used to sending a message to my HR Generalists asking them to check proactively (so they don't get caught without it when someone needs data quickly). Another "symptom" of the issue seems to be the version of excel used - we have some locations that haven't updated and are using earlier versions, where I am using the Microsoft 365 version and it's worked well.

We have not found a great solution, so will keenly be watching this thread for ideas. Because we do not have admin access to our computers, in order to fix the issue, we have to submit a help desk request and get IT to help us reinstall. That *usually* solves the issue, but not always. Definitely a huge frustration to our HR teams. Thanks for bringing it up and sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

Hello Everyone

here is one thing for you to try when that happens. It needs someone with Admin Access to the Computer, but we are hoping it will prevent this from happening again. At least that has been my experience with My Computer since I have done this. Please keep us posted of it works

Call The Service Desk and have them contact the user to make these changes

We have seen this issue if v10 or older Add-ins are installed on the same computer as ISD. After go-live and uninstalling MOA from a computer (if no longer required to access against v10) it appears to have gone away.

We were having this issue as well. We ended up deploying ISD via Citrix for end users to access. Infor doesn't officially support this, but it works, so we only have to update once instance when there are new versions.

At CHRSITUS Health, we also experience this issue often and I agree the route to fix is to uninstall and reinstall which takes a ticket for IT to fix. It would be nice to have a solution so this does not keep happening. In searching on Concierge I have yet to find a solid solution. Appears a user reports it, they find a way to fix it and close the issue. Has anyone logged a ticket for this since there are many of us experiencing this? Thank you, DebbiSue

This is exactly how we fixed this issue at Xanterra and we haven't had a problem since. This is definitely the fix - I believe we even had IT do a push to everyone's computer to update the load behavior to 3.
