Purchase Order - Search Vendor Name in Field and Arrow Down

We have been on FSM for about three years now and in a survey we just sent out internally to our users we learned that several would really like it if they could search a vendor name in the Vendor field and arrow down to get the vendor number to populate like in v10. Right now they have to click Search > enter vendor name > Search > select the vendor > click Ok. They would like to do less clicking when create Purchase Orders. Anyone know if this will come back or have you found another way around this? Thank you.

Could you attach a document with screenshots of what you are describing (from v10 and FSM)? After searching for a vendor, I selected it and it automatically closed the dialog box (did not have to click on OK). Also, I use the mouse trackwheel to scroll thru the records (find it faster than clicking on the scroll bar).

On the PurchaseOrderEntryMain form make the configuration shown below. The "when value changed" syntax will trigger the Vendor Name field to be refreshed when the value is updated and display the Vendor name beside the Vendor number.

Hi @sandeep-chandak - We got off of v10 in 2019, so I can't provide screenshots on that. What you could do is select the Vendor field on a PO and type in, "Medline" then arrow down and the vendor number for Medline would populate. In FSM, you need to select Search > Search the name > Select the vendor > click Ok.

Hi John - I appreciate the syntax because we could use this in other places, but this doesn't address their request. In this case, you still have to know the vendor number. They would like to be able to enter a vendor name and arrow down and the system does an alpha search and populates the vendor number directly within the Vendor field.
