IDM XQUERY help please

Hi all

I'm trying to learn ion desk and right now I'm struggling with this "newbie-issue". I've created a flow and want to lookup an IDM document by a workflow. I'm trying to search for the document by passing entityType (document type) and attribute. When playing with the api's I'm not able to retrieve any result. The JSON I'm passing is the one below.

Does anyone have a clue about how this works?

Are you familiar with the "Context Viewer" sidebar widget? It allows you to view the Business Context messages being broadcast by the application. If you have Admin Setting access, you can enable it for an application. Below is a screenshot of the "Context Viewer" in action on a Vendor screen in FSM. You would want to grab the JSON in the "Data" portion of the Business Context message to use as input to that API.

Plugging that data into the API will return results IF there is a document associated with that business context data:

Which API are you using?

The Item Search in ION API has documentation on it and uses parameters.

There is also documentation in the IDM on the Rest Interfaces.

Hi and thanks for your reply. The API you're referring to is the GET API. If I'm not mistaking, I'm not able to use data from that API. I'm using the POST-version of that API. The query is different in this API.

That set of APIs is for Business Context. Why do you feel you need that vs. the Items APIs?

What are you attempting to build? is it a widget for an application? That does nto match with your original request for use in an ION Flow.

This is what I'm trying to create: I want to create a logic that picks up a work instruction (a PDF document) from a folder, checks if a work instruction for this product already exists and creates it in IDM if it does not exist. If it already exists, a new version should be checked in. With the GET API, I'm not getting any reply into the workflow in ION Desk.

Using the context viewer to generate a correct JSON was the trick!
