Has anyone created a custom workflow for employee work assignment changes that does not require a position number for submission of the action request? We are using position to default required items like job, work unit and direct supervisor on work assignments and do not want to override what is on the position. However, we would like to be able to allow one of our HR teams to submit a request to change a work assignment and provide required items like job, work unit and direct supervisor without a position number. Ideally, the approver of the action would enter the appropriate position number prior to approving. I'm wondering if it's possible to create a workflow like I'm suggesting when position defaulting rules are setup with no override.
