Position Shift Field Naming Options

I'm wanting to use the "Shift" field within a positoin to reflect the actual shift an employee work (e.g. Night, Day etc), however the dropdown options currently show Shift 1, Shift 2 etc. Is there a way I can rename those dropdown optoins from Shift 1 to Night, Shift 2 to Day etc?

I had the same question. We are in the middle of implementation and, to my understanding, this is hard-coded and unable to be changed.

That's what I was told two years ago, but I'm hoping some clever person out there has found a solution. Seems odd there is a specific Shift field but you can't accurately reflect that that shift is! We've used the FederalAlternateWorkSchedule on the Work Assignment up until this point, but are now wanting to capture the shift within the position.

While the delivered field values are unable to be changed, a user field could be added that either allows for the dropdown values you want to see; also, a bit more complex (but not hugely so), you could have the value of a user field be populated based on the value you select in the Shift field.

We have used a derived definition in the past to meet this requirement.
