Defaulting Preferred Application within HR Talent/MyHR

Has anyone defaulted the Application under MyHR based on an Actor's Role?  Currently our environment is setup to default to Employee.  For example, if someone is a Manager and has the DirectSupervisor_ST role, we would like to default their preferred application to Manager.  I do see under User Settings you can change your default application, although changing it here and saving it doesn't appear to work as I would expect it to.  I logged out and back in and it still defaulted to Employee.  We are On-Premise.  Has anyone done anything like this?

This is from a support ticket that we opened about this... we never made it back to review/update, so I can't answer whether or not this will resolve this issue., but perhaps you'll be able to, and report back?

The Preferred Application feature was added to Landmark in CU31. See the following link for release notes documentation:

This feature requires that the Landmark Suite Home page is configured as the initial start page for the GHR application. That means the Ming.le plug-in needs to be set to machinename/.../home

Based from the fiddler trace, the likely cause of this issue is that there are missing required configurations to enable this feature. It looks like the GHR Ming.le plug-in URL is not set up to go to the Suite Home page (/web/home). If you want to use the Preferred Application functionality, you'll need to update the GHR plug-in URL.

Attached is a documentation that describes this functionality and how to enable it for GHR. The steps in the document are specific to Ming.le 12 and Soho 4.0 UX.
